How we vet every Long Island masonry contractor
Only about one in four applicants makes it onto Long Island Masonry Services. Every contractor is scored on a 100-point Craft Score that combines seven independently verified factors. Contractors below 70 don't appear in match results.

Baseline requirements (before scoring)
- Active NYC Home Improvement license
- $1M+ general liability + workers' compensation
- 3+ years in business + EIN on file
- 4.5★+ average across 20+ verified reviews
- Zero unresolved BBB complaints in the last 24 months
- Written 1-year workmanship warranty
Master Mason tier (90+)
Contractors scoring 90 or higher earn the Master Mason badge — currently held by fewer than 5% of pros on the platform. Master Mason status requires all baseline requirements plus manufacturer certifications, 15+ portfolio pieces per service, and a median response time under 4 hours.
Re-verification
Every contractor's license, insurance and reviews are re-verified annually and on any material change. Craft Scores recompute nightly. Complaints trigger immediate review and can result in suspension or removal.
